JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Do you want to be the one who inspires hope for the future in young people and guides them toward well-founded educational and career choices? As a guidance counselor with us, you will have an important role in the student support team. Here you don't wait for students to come to you - you work proactively, close to instruction and close to students' daily lives to help them build their future. You become the driving force in creating a clear thread throughout the school's guidance and career counseling. Through both individual conversations and group activities, you ensure that our students are informed, inspired, and equipped for upper secondary school and future working life. • Conduct individual guidance conversations with students, and carry out information sessions before upper secondary school selection, language choice, higher education studies, and career planning. • Be an active member of the student support team (EHT) and contribute to students' goal achievement. • Handle administration related to elective courses and individual choices. • Manage collaboration with the business community and external partners. • Plan and conduct upper secondary school fairs, open days, and job shadowing for students. Öresundsgymnasiet has three guidance counselors (SYV) who have divided responsibility for the school's seven national programs and IM among themselves. Guidance counselors work at the operational level, group level, and individual level together with school leadership and the student support team. At the operational level, we identify needs and create clear procedures and structures to carry out the work during the school year. Guidance counselors work at the group level with the different upper secondary programs and grade levels, through group guidance, information initiatives, and study visits. At the individual level, guidance counselors work through the student support team with counseling interventions that contribute to students' goal achievement and development of students' decision-making competence. During the 2027/2028 school year, we aim to develop the guidance counselor roles to work more with the surrounding community, including by strengthening connections with the business community and with organizations working with the same target group. The goal is to equip students for the future and to develop a new way of working so that we can offer more practical/work-based education. Required Qualifications • Licensed guidance counselor. • Good knowledge of regulations, eligibility requirements, and administrative systems. • Excellent Swedish proficiency, both spoken and written. Meritorious • Experience working as a guidance counselor and within student support teams. • Experience collaborating with the business community or external partners.
