About the Workplace One of our colleagues is retiring, and we are therefore seeking a new colleague who wants to be part of developing the future of study and career guidance at LTH. The Guidance and Support Unit is part of the Educational Affairs Department, which is part of LTH's administration and currently consists of 16 employees. The Educational Affairs Department also includes employees who work with admissions, degree conferrals, scheduling, and program planning. The overarching goal of the Guidance and Support Unit is to support students on their path to graduation. You will be part of a team of study and career advisors and student counselors who drive and develop the operations based on a shared approach. Within the unit, we also work with LTH's efforts on equal conditions and work environment for students. Our daily work is based heavily on collaboration within the department and with other groups/operations. LTH offers education both in Lund and at Campus Helsingborg. Read more on the university's website about working with us Jobba hos oss Lunds universitet Tasks and Responsibilities The primary tasks of the study and career advisor are to introduce, support, and guide students both individually and in groups. You will be active both in Lund and at Campus Helsingborg, which requires the ability to travel between locations. You will participate in various project and process groups with your colleagues while independently managing your work. You will also be part of a program leadership team that is responsible for developing one or more educational programs, where you will contribute your profession-specific expertise. As a study and career advisor, you will guide students through their education, from prospective student to entering the workforce. The work takes place in both Swedish and English. Examples of tasks included in the role: Guidance of program students both individually and in groups Career guidance Systematic monitoring of study results Work with preventive measures Plan, coordinate, and manage the academic reception of new students Provide information on general and program-specific matters Develop individualized recommended study paths Guidance on course selection The content of the position may develop and change over time as the operations' needs change. Qualifications Requirements for the position are: Study and career guidance degree or other academic education that the employer deems equivalent Documented experience of qualified guidance work with individuals and groups Good knowledge and ability to use conversation methods Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Good ability to deliver information and presentations to large groups in Swedish and English We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in this role, you need to be relationship-building, responsive, and confident in interactions with people. You have a good ability to work independently while collaborating with many people in different roles. You have a flexible work approach and good ability to work in a structured manner and handle periods of high workload. Furthermore, you are proactive and service-oriented. Merits for the position: We would like to see that you have experience with study guidance in higher education, a good understanding of young adults' needs, and knowledge of work on equal conditions and diversity. Other Information The position is permanent with a scope of 100 percent with start in January 2027 or by agreement. A probationary period may be applied.
