The Swedish Defence University is undergoing an expansive phase with high demand for education and research in both military and civilian defense. We are therefore seeking a real estate developer who wants to be part of our exciting journey. About the workplace The position is located in the Department of Facilities Management, Records, and Archives, as well as Procurement and Purchasing. The department is an important part of the Swedish Defence University's operational support and is responsible for coordinating the university's support and service functions within its area of responsibility. The Swedish Defence University operates in both Stockholm and Karlstad, and the position is based in Stockholm. Business travel may occur. Job responsibilities As a real estate developer, your main tasks will involve planning and implementing facility changes and leasing on a medium and long-term basis, with the aim of supporting the university's provision of suitable premises. You will independently lead real estate development projects in close cooperation with the Swedish Defence University's landlords and other internal and external partners, and ensure that the property portfolio is continuously developed in line with operational needs. The position reports directly to the department head. Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone who has: University education in real estate, construction, or another relevant field, or work experience that the employer considers equivalent. At least five years of professional experience in property management and/or real estate development in the public sector. Experience in project management of property and facility-related projects. Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Experience in facility management within the university and higher education sector is advantageous. Personal qualities To succeed in the role, you have a strong ability to independently drive processes forward and take clear overall responsibility for your work. You work in a structured manner as the work requires high demands on good coordination skills and long-term planning. You are motivated by working in an environment where assignments vary in complexity and time horizon. You are a relationship-building person with high social competence and can adapt your communication style to the target audience and situation. The role involves many contact points, and we therefore see that you are responsive and able to quickly understand the needs and conditions of different operations. In addition, you have high security awareness. Employment at the Swedish Defence University may involve a security clearance for placement in a security class, which includes background checks and in some cases security interviews with the Swedish Security Service. The employment may include war placement. If you are already war-placed in your current employment at an agency and your expertise is needed in the Swedish Defence University's war organization, a negotiation will take place between the relevant agency and the Swedish Defence University regarding your placement.
