Västerås City and the Department of Children and Education welcome you to the operational area of Home Municipality and Adult Education. We are currently looking for a strategist who can navigate across the three educational committees, from the child in preschool to the adult student, with an overarching focus. Together we work to develop the entire school city of Västerås! Your tasks With us you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of strategic issues. Your role is central and supportive for the entire department, where you together with another strategist and a quality controller form a team. Your tasks range from preparing and quality assuring matters for the committee, to conducting your own investigations and contributing to process development based on the needs of the committees and the department. You also have a strategic role in developing and coordinating the department's work with planning, follow-up, and analysis. Together the team ensures that the processes maintain high quality and provide relevant information for management and decision-making. Although the focus is on strategic work, you will also contribute to operational implementation when needed. The position involves many contacts and collaboration with different roles and competencies within the department and across the city. Therefore, it is important that you can build relationships across professional boundaries and communicate complex information in a clear and educational manner. Your competence We are looking for someone with experience initiating and leading strategic work. Your knowledge of and experience working in a politically governed organization is an asset, and you will focus on working with complex strategic issues. You have a degree in a relevant field, such as political science or social science, and if you have previously worked with education issues or in a strategic role, that is a merit. We are looking for a structured team player who can plan and prioritize tasks while enjoying collaboration with others to achieve the best results. Your ability to work with text is very important as your role includes analyzing, compiling, and writing materials for the committee as well as conducting complex investigations. You also have good analytical skills and experience compiling, analyzing, and presenting statistics as a basis for operational development, management, and strategic decision-making.
