This position is located within the Social Services Department, one of eight departments in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Department is responsible for authority exercise, commissioning of services, and in-house operations within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. Your Work Tasks Are you looking for meaningful work where you can use both your pedagogical skills and practical abilities? We are now seeking dedicated support assistants/caregivers for our operations at Edhaga Farm in Tinnerö nature reserve. Your day begins by supporting the residents with their morning routines and personal care. After that, the work transitions to the farm's daily activities. Here you work side by side with the residents and guide them in tasks such as: Caring for chickens and the garden Wood handling and maintenance of the farm's buildings Household chores such as cooking, shopping, and cleaning The goal is for each individual to grow and use their own abilities. We work based on Positive Behavior Support (PBS), and as a support assistant/caregiver, you will support, structure, and train routines that create safety and participation for our residents. We are looking for someone who feels confident in their professional role and appreciates the variety between personal care, managing behavioral challenges, and physical outdoor work. Your Workplace Edhaga Farm is a group home with daily activities for people with LSS decisions. Here you get the best of both worlds: your professional work with the residents and an active farm life. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and enjoys being out in the fresh air. Together with our five residents, we manage life on the farm and its animals (chickens). This means you need to be prepared for all types of weather – boots and rain gear are just as essential work tools as your pedagogical and low-key approach. The farm is located in Tinnerö nature reserve and during winter, a car is required as there are no bus lines nearby. Cycling is fine in summer if you don't have too long a commute to work. You will be part of a work team of 17 employees with expertise in care, behavioral challenges, and farm management. We work day shifts, evening shifts, every other weekend, and on-call night shifts (approximately 1-2 shifts every other week). You will never work alone at night as your colleague working the awake night shift is there to assist you. The operation coordinates planning with other units, which means that work at multiple locations may become relevant. For this position, employment of at least 80% applies, but due to the right to full-time work as applied in Linköping Municipality, you have the opportunity to choose a higher employment level up to full-time. About You We are looking for someone who has completed upper secondary education. It is meritious if you are trained in care and health services, children and recreation, or an equivalent field. You have previous experience working in support, care, and health services – preferably specifically within LSS, intellectual disability, and behavioral challenges. Since we are an active farm, it is necessary that you enjoy physical outdoor work. We would like to see that you have skill in wood handling and carpentry, and it's a plus if you are experienced in animal care (chickens and cats). It is meritious if you have experience with challenging behavior and a low-key approach, as well as if you have knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) such as picture support or Sign Support. You must speak and write Swedish fluently, as documentation and collaboration are central parts of the role. A Class B driving license (automatic/manual) and access to a car are required, as there are no public transport connections to the facility. The position also includes some travel using the operation's vehicles. As a person, you are confident, self-directed, and take responsibility for driving your work tasks forward, and you have good collaboration skills. Your empathetic ability makes it easy for you to understand others' perspectives, and you are a responsive communicator who has the ability to adapt your message to your audience.
