Disability and social psychiatry is one of three departments within the social care administration. The department is responsible for LSS residences, day activities, residential support, short-term stays and personal assistance. We are approximately 250 employees who work with great commitment with the individual's needs at the center and based on a belief in the individual's own abilities. We work purposefully to ensure that our operations have high competence and quality. Within the department we work for collaboration between workplaces and skills development for our employees. This means that as a future employee you will have a regular workplace where you work the majority of your shifts and some shifts can be carried out at another workplace. In January 2027, we are opening Bolmörten, a new, modern and pleasant LSS residence for persons belonging to user group 1 according to the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as a support assistant, you will provide support and help to people with mental disabilities, a responsibility that the municipality has to ensure proper support for this target group. Your work is guiding, supportive and motivating, where you help users manage their difficulties and develop their abilities in everyday life. You will meet users with mental disabilities, as well as persons with complex needs and/or comorbidities. Many of the people you will encounter may experience emotional imbalance and there are also meetings with users who may exhibit anxiety, self-harm behavior and/or other self-destructive actions. As an employee, you need to be comfortable with difficult conversations and have the ability to create a safe and respectful approach. To provide the best possible support, you will work based on a clear methodological foundation and have an effective approach. The activities have a strong focus on clarifying pedagogy and apply low-arousal management to create a safe and respectful environment. Your task is to contribute to increased understanding and provide practical help through a structured and adapted way of working for each individual's needs. You will collaborate with several different professional groups and you will also have close cooperation with relatives. The purpose of the collaboration is to plan and carry out well-adapted measures. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a positive view of people, strong commitment and genuine interest in the target group. You are confident in yourself, flexible and engaged, with the ability to inspire others and contribute to common goals. You enjoy working in a changing environment and want to be part of building a new operation. You collaborate well, work independently and have a genuine interest in the target group. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Qualifications • Completed and documented education from a child and leisure program, care and nursing program or other education that the employer considers equivalent. • You should have good computer skills and find it exciting to work with digital tools. • Since communication and documentation are central and important parts of the activities, the work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing.
