As a support assistant within the Housing and Support area, Welfare Gävle, you work with individuals who have been granted services under the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS). The target group may have physical, psychological, or intellectual disabilities. The position is located at the group housing Vinddraget in Andersberg, Gävle, which has five residential places. We are currently a work team of seven colleagues and are now seeking a new team member who wants to contribute knowledge, commitment, and care to this important work with our customers. As a support assistant, you have a meaningful role in creating safety, participation, and good quality of life. Together we work to give each customer the conditions to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible based on their individual needs and wishes. Vinddraget is staffed 24 hours a day. The position involves day, evening, and weekend work according to schedule. 2 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for someone who is a trustworthy person and who enjoys working with people and providing support based on each individual's unique needs. With us you have the opportunity to contribute your competence and commitment to meaningful work. • The work includes providing educational support and care to promote the customer's abilities and independence. • Work as a support assistant within Housing with Special Services involves supporting the customer with daily tasks, from assistance with cooking, cleaning, care, personal hygiene, leisure activities to social and municipal contacts. • The support assistant's assignment includes promoting and developing the customer's communication skills. • The work also includes documenting the customer's needs and development. The purpose is to continuously follow up and provide support that contributes to the customer's best possible development. • The work may involve challenging behaviors, which requires calm, low-affect and professional interaction as well as a good ability to adapt support and working methods based on the individual's needs and conditions. QUALIFICATIONS Formal Competence: • Education from a healthcare and care program, children's and recreation program with a focus on social work, or support assistant training. • Current experience working with people with functional variation within LSS. • To be able to adapt communication to different individuals' needs and conditions, the position requires experience with clarifying pedagogy such as TEACCH, sign support, signs as support, picture support. • The work includes maintaining medical and social documentation, which requires good Swedish language skills and good computer skills since documentation is IT-based. • Experience or training in low-affect interaction. Meritorious for the position: • Medical delegation and delegation for tube feeding. • Experience with schedule planning or administrative tasks.
