Job Duties We are seeking a support assistant for a one-year temporary position at Lyse Day Activity Center! Lyse Day Activity Center provides employment for individuals covered by the Swedish Disability Services Act (LSS) and serves people with intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric disabilities, and autism. The facility offers a varied range of activities tailored to each user's interests and capabilities. Examples of activities include walks, computer work, creative activities, music, structured work arrangements, and fitness. Day activity services are a support measure under the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Disabilities), which must be adapted to the individual needs of the participant and ensure good living conditions. As an employee, you are responsible for supporting our participants in their activities so they have a meaningful day. Your tasks are adapted to the participants and their needs, and you must be able to guide and support them in their activities both individually and/or in groups. Together we place the participant at the center and work so that the participant is involved in activities based on their resources, interests, and needs. Work hours are full-time daytime shifts with varying times between 07:00-17:00. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a degree from the Care and Nursing Program, Support Assistant Training, or the Children and Leisure Program with a focus on social or educational work. The educational requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational credits, 120 university credits, or a combination equaling at least four full-time semesters of study. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer. Communication and documentation are important parts of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the Swedish language requirements, you may be offered a language test through the test administrator Educateit. You need knowledge and experience in LAB (low-arousal approach), AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), and clarifying pedagogy. It is advantageous if you have experience working at a day activity center. You are calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance demands placed on you and can make well-reasoned decisions despite time pressure. You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think about those we serve and their best interests. You do your best to complete all work tasks properly and follow up on the results. You are friendly and helpful toward other people even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are welcoming and positive. You work to ensure that users get what they need. You communicate information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You ensure that your message gets across. You adapt your communication to the recipient, audience, and situation. You work well with others by listening, showing interest and respect. You understand the shared mission and work to make it as good as possible. You have a good understanding of how individuals acquire knowledge and their different conditions.
