Job Duties We are now seeking a support assistant for Carl Grimbergsgatans residential facility with special services! We are currently located at Robertshöjdsgatan but will move back to Carl Grimbergsgatan in the future. We have 12 residents. Our target group is primarily adults with varying intellectual disabilities and diagnoses within neuropsychiatry/psychiatry as well as social psychiatry. As a support assistant, you will support residents in their daily lives to create participation and the opportunity to influence decisions and services. Your task is to work with your colleagues to create a residential service where we promote self-determination, participation, and where residents are inspired and motivated to use, challenge, and develop their abilities. You collaborate with legal guardians, social workers, family members, and healthcare providers, and handle social documentation and medication administration according to delegation. We work according to evidence-based methods such as ESL, MI, LAB, and clarifying pedagogy. Your role as a support assistant includes serving as a contact person, which means you have expanded responsibility for one or more residents. This includes developing individually adapted work approaches, social documentation, and collaborating within the professional network around the resident. A support educator at the facility is available to assist you in this work. Together we do important and meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives. The job duties also include medication management according to delegation and common household tasks such as cooking, laundry, and cleaning. The education requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination equivalent to at least four full-time semesters of study. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit. We consider it meritorious if you have worked with methods such as MI (motivational interviewing), ESL (a self-directed life), and LAB (low-arousal approach). You can adapt how you work when things change. You can quickly shift your perspective and approach and see opportunities in change. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. You are receptive to what others say or express and show respect, consideration, and care in your interactions. You are friendly and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You work to ensure that the user gets what that person needs. You can see your work as part of a larger context and understand how it affects and is affected by other parts of the organization. You take into account different sources of information and perspectives and can adapt others' ideas to your own activities.
