About the job As a support assistant in the Residential Support service, you will provide support, service, and care to adults with mental, intellectual, and neuropsychological disabilities. Support is provided across all areas of life and typically takes place in the individual's home. This position is a temporary contract running from 1/12-2026 to 30/11 2027. The assignment aims to motivate and strengthen each person's own resources. Support is based on implementation plans created together with service users. The work includes assisting our service users with all household tasks, contacts with authorities, and guiding and showing them local venues while supporting them in meaningful leisure activities or employment. Daily work involves collaboration with colleagues within the unit and with important contacts outside the home, as well as social documentation and delegated healthcare tasks. The work includes independent work, providing support in service users' homes. You will receive support through a support pedagogue and through team meetings. The position is primarily based during daytime hours, may include occasional evenings according to the employment agreement, and the working time is 40 hours per week. Working hours according to the needs of the service and time distribution in dialogue with colleagues and management at the unit. If you have allergies, it's good to know that pets and dusty environments are frequently present in residential support work. About you We are looking for you who have qualifications from the Care and Healthcare Program, Support Assistant training, or Children and Leisure Program with a focus on social or educational work. The education requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization in the disability field comprising at least 200 vocational school credits, 120 university credits, or a combination of the two equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent. All social documentation is done digitally, so you need to have good computer skills. You need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which means a requirement for passed grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the language qualifications, you may be offered to take a language test through EducateIt. Driver's license B is required based on the unit's need to travel by car to outlying areas within the unit's area of responsibility. The position also requires that you are independent and able to work alone. If you also have experience with any of the following methods: AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication), LAB (Low-Arousal Approach), Motivational Interviewing, or ESL (An Independent Life) and Clarifying Pedagogy, IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), this would be to your advantage. It is also advantageous if you have previous experience working within the Department for Functional Support. You show respect for everyone you meet at work.
