About the Operation We are now recruiting a support assistant for Stortoppsgatan's service housing located at Gråberget. The unit has 8 residents. The target group is primarily young adults with varying intellectual disabilities and diagnoses within neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF) as well as psychiatric conditions. Our daily efforts are based on the needs and wishes that each individual considers important in order to be as independent as possible. Job Responsibilities We are looking for someone who wants to work in an operation where we together develop working methods, approach, and strategies to create the best possible support for the people living with us. The residents who live here have individual needs, interests, and circumstances. We are looking for someone who takes initiative and gets things done, always with the residents' needs in focus. In your work, you motivate residents in their daily lives, both at home and outside the home. This can involve encouraging social activities and supporting contacts outside the residence. You also provide support with everyday tasks such as personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, exercise, and cooking. You collaborate with family members, guardians, social workers, and healthcare professionals and work as part of a team where approach, method development, and a low-intensity relational style are a natural part of everyday work. In your work, you also use methods such as ESL (A Self-Reliant Life) and MI (Motivational Interviewing). The work also includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation. We work on building trusting relationships based on mutual respect, where the staff's approach is the most important tool in the work. Working in someone else's home places demands on the person who is employed. This means that staff must have a good work environment and do good work while respecting the user's integrity. Challenging behavior may sometimes occur, but there are developed action plans for how to handle these situations. Working hours are day shifts, evening shifts, on-call sleeping shifts, and every other weekend. Solo work on the unit occurs. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has a diploma from the Care and Nursing Program, Support Assistant training, or Children and Recreation Program with a focus on social or educational work. The education requirement is also met if you have post-secondary specialization within the disability field comprising at least 200 yh-credits, 120 university credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four full-time semesters of study. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education must have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1. You must have documented experience working within LSS and social documentation. You must also have experience working with challenging behavior. You are calm and secure in stressful and difficult situations. You take responsibility for your work tasks and can make independent decisions and have the ability to plan and prioritize your work based on the residents' needs. You are attentive and open to understanding other people's needs, feelings, and opinions. Meritorious Qualifications It is meritorious if you have experience with the target groups neuropsychiatric disabilities and psychiatric conditions. It is also meritorious if you have experience with Low-Intensity Relational approach, A Self-Reliant Life, and Motivational Interviewing. Other Information Attach study certificates or diplomas to your application under other files. When you apply, you will describe your knowledge and experience by answering a number of questions.
