Support Assistant for Night Shift at Short-Term Residential Care for Children/Youth

Are you a support assistant with previous experience working nights and interested in working with children and young people? We are now recruiting a support assistant to work nights at a short-term residential facility for children and youth in Torvalla. Short-term residential care involves temporary overnight stays outside the home for children and young people with disabilities. Fjällripan serves school-age children through high school students. The facility is divided into two units with a total of eight beds, and we serve approximately thirty individuals each month. We offer residents the opportunity for recreation and a change of environment in a home-like setting after school/leisure time, while also providing relief for entire families. As staff, you provide support based on each individual's needs and circumstances. You help residents with daily activities and create conditions for as independent a life as possible. You will become part of an engaged and positive team of twenty employees, where collaboration, laughter, and community are important parts of the work. We are recruiting a support assistant for a permanent position at 86.3% with the possibility of working up to 100% within the Disability Sector. Start date is immediate or by agreement. Working hours are 21:00 to 08:30 the following day. You will work 14 days on a six-week rotating schedule with duty every third weekend. Working hours may change based on operational needs and circumstances. A probationary period may apply. Your New Role You will work largely independently, but also together with colleagues, to ensure that children have a safe, secure, and caring stay during the night. You are responsible for supervision, care, and support for up to eight children per night based on each child's individual needs, and you contribute to calm, structure, and security. The role requires high levels of independence and judgment, which is why we seek someone with previous experience working nights. You will meet children with varying and sometimes complex needs. This means you need to be able to make well-founded decisions, take responsibility for your work, and meet each child with respect, attentiveness, and professionalism. The work can sometimes be challenging, and there may be situations requiring you to act calmly and reassuringly even under pressure. Work tasks include supervision, personal care, documentation, and practical support. When children are sleeping, you also perform other important work tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, preparations for the coming day, and other duties that contribute to smooth operations. Documentation and information handover are important parts of the assignment and occur daily in several different operational systems. Therefore, you need to have good computer skills and feel comfortable documenting and managing information digitally.
