Lövsta Agricultural Research
We are looking for you to work as a stable technician at VH barn operations in Uppsala. We are about thirty employees working with a dairy herd of 300 cows, including recruitment, and in rodent research activities. The stables are highly mechanized with, among other things, milking robots (VMS) in the cattle shed. The facility conducts around twenty research projects annually and receives a couple of thousand SLU students.
About the Job
We are looking for you to work with the typical tasks found on an animal facility such as supervision, in stables and pastures, cleaning, registrations, administration, weighing, and feeding. The work is scheduled with weekend and on-call work. Some work may occur in Lövsta's chicken and laying hen stables, whose operations are integrated with the cattle shed. Daily work is alternated with tasks related to research activities and support for teaching.
Your Background
You should have practical experience working with farm animals and milk production as well as with rodents; theoretical knowledge is a merit. We place great importance on personal qualities such as collaboration skills, independence, and initiative and organizational ability. You should be interested in working with researchers and students. A B driver's license is required.
