Lövsta Agricultural Research We are a cheerful team looking for an additional colleague who wants to strengthen our team. We are seeking someone who is responsible, thorough with a good sense of humor and wants to work as an animal caretaker in the barn at Röbäcksdalen in Umeå. To thrive with us, it is an advantage if you have social competence and find it easy to work in a changing environment. About the job You will be an important part of the team that currently consists of six employees. The work involves the usual tasks in a dairy herd such as milking, feeding, supervision, cleaning, sampling and record-keeping. Many research projects are conducted in the operation, which is an important part of your duties. We work according to a schedule Monday through Sunday and work shifts are scheduled between 05:30-18:30. Your background We are looking for someone with practical experience and theoretical knowledge in dairy production. You are thorough and responsible and want to work with animals and other people. A Class B driver's license and written and spoken Swedish are required. It is an advantage if you have completed a seminar course, have experience with medication handling and tractor driving. About us Röbäcksdalen Research Farm is part of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Umeå. Here, both research and education in dairy production are conducted, where we strive to create a high-quality environment for both animals and people. In addition to dairy production, there is extensive crop production on 250 hectares. The farm collaborates with SLU's animal facility in Uppsala where there are cattle, pigs and poultry.
