Description Gårdstensskolan is expanding its student support services, and we are now looking for you as a special education teacher! At Gårdstensskolan grades 7-9, approximately 150 students attend. The school is located near Angereds torg with excellent transportation connections. Special efforts have been made to increase comfort in the learning environment with new, fresh facilities, gathering spaces, and painted walls. Significant investments and professional development are taking place with all educators regarding identifying student needs, teaching quality, and grading and assessment. Job Responsibilities We at Gårdstensskolan are looking for you to work with us in grades 7-9 as a special education teacher. As a special education teacher with us, you work at the individual, group, and organizational levels to create and develop good learning environments and conditions for all students to develop toward the school's learning goals. You have a central role in the student support team and you will work together with a broad team consisting of a special education teacher, several special education teachers, two counselors, school nurse, school doctor, school psychologist, and school management. You are a support to teachers by conducting consultations, classroom observations, and participating in the school's work teams. You are involved in and support teachers in working with accommodations and developing teaching approaches based on groups' and students' needs. You also conduct direct interventions in specific cases where you work with students in groups or serve as special support for individual students. You, together with work teams and students, identify needs for both support and challenges, and participate in planning, implementing, and following up on various accommodations and measures. This also includes conducting and taking responsibility for assessments of students' needs for special support. You participate in the unit's pedagogical development work and the school's systematic quality work. It is therefore of great importance that you stay updated on the latest research so that you can then apply it in the operation. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher and have further education as a special education teacher with experience working with multilingual students and their learning process as well as language development. It is of great importance that you are engaged in your work and have a positive attitude toward students. You contribute to creating good learning environments and conditions for student learning. You also have good knowledge of applicable governing documents, students' right to special support, and the development of action plans. Since communication and documentation are part of the job, it is required that you have good knowledge of Swedish both orally and in writing. You see the competent child and create working methods and contexts that give all students opportunities to succeed. As a person, you like to take your own initiatives and have a flexibility that allows you to adapt your working approach based on the situation, in order to meet students' needs.
