Description We are looking for a special education teacher who wants to help create good conditions for all our students to succeed in school. In your role as a special education teacher, you will work closely with students, teachers, recreation staff, and school leadership to promote a safe, inclusive, and accessible learning environment. You will work with grades F–3, our special education group F–3, and the after-school program F–3. The assignment is varied and involves both direct student work and broader pedagogical and preventive efforts. Duties As a special education teacher, you are an important part of the school's student support work. You work both preventively and intervening, and contribute your special education expertise in developing instruction and learning environments. Your duties include: conduct pedagogical assessments and investigate students' need for special support and help ensure that appropriate support measures are implemented and followed up guide and support teachers and other staff in matters regarding students' learning, development, and support needs together with work teams and school leadership, develop accessible and inclusive learning environments observe and analyze teaching situations and learning environments and suggest pedagogical adaptations and interventions work closely with students and, when needed, implement special education interventions contribute specialized education expertise to the school's student support team and systematic student support work collaborate with guardians and other professionals regarding students' schooling cooperate with external actors and authorities when needed regarding student support and development document, follow up, and evaluate support measures Qualifications We are looking for a licensed teacher with further education in special education. Experience working as a special education teacher is a merit. You are confident in your profession and have a relational perspective on students' learning and development. You see the relationship as an important foundation for understanding the student's conditions and creating functioning pedagogical contexts. You are a flexible person who easily adapts to the organization's and students' changing needs. You work independently and take great responsibility for your tasks by advancing them in a structured and engaged manner. With an initiative-taking approach, you identify what needs to be done, prioritize interventions, and take own initiatives to create development and improvement. You have a good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. By being receptive and communicative, you meet different perspectives in a respectful and professional way. You feel confident in guiding staff and willingly contribute new perspectives and concrete pedagogical tools in daily work. Your analytical ability allows you to see both the individual's needs and understand how organization, instruction, and learning environment affect the student's opportunities to succeed.
