We are looking for you who are a certified teacher up to and including grade 9 and who want to work as a special education teacher at a school that has: -a positive atmosphere with an open and welcoming climate -strong student results -25 students in each class -engaged and skilled staff -well-functioning student support services with clear procedures -shared school-wide rules that create safety and an environment conducive to learning -solid finances -wellness benefits of 3000 kr per year -a pleasant cafeteria with fantastic food prepared from scratch You will work with the grades 7-9 team consisting of skilled and engaged staff such as educators, student support assistants, counselor, and academic and career guidance counselors who together work to give all students good opportunities to develop toward the educational goals. The team has a very positive atmosphere. We are now seeking a special education teacher at 90-100% who has good knowledge of reading and writing development, can mentor teachers to develop instruction at the school, is experienced in working with student absenteeism, both preventively and with interventions. You put the student in focus and are a clear leader with good pedagogical skills. You have an easy time building good relationships with colleagues, students and guardians, and are experienced in writing intervention plans and pedagogical assessments as well as implementing systematic student support services. You are attentive to the needs of the students and the organization, and are interested in developing and adapting your work methods to contribute to the school's student support work and to assess students' reading abilities at the junior high level. You are well versed in the curriculum's goals and you work systematically to make instruction accessible to students by mentoring teachers. As a person you are positive, solution-focused and flexible. You are a good role model for students and staff and your values align well with Västbergaskolan. The position includes participating weekly in student support team meetings at the junior high level and in meetings where the school's all special education teachers and specialists meet once a week. Together with staff in our studio activities, special math teacher, and other teachers, you work to continuously develop instruction so that every student has the opportunity to develop as far as possible.
