Description Gårdstensskolan is expanding its student support team and is now recruiting two specialist teachers, one for middle school (grades 6-9) and one for elementary school (grades 4-6). Gårdstensskolan moved into new premises in autumn 2019. Special efforts have been made to develop the learning environment. Job Responsibilities The school continuously works to develop instruction and has scheduled meeting times focused on raising the quality of teaching through collegial learning. Professional development is led by the school's leading teachers and is based on identified student needs. Each grade level has a work team consisting of a team leader and a leading teacher who together drive the team's operational and development work. The school's student support team is also part of the school's work teams to support work on student welfare-oriented issues such as attendance and students' need for support. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing and following up on instruction for students in need of special support and support organized at the group level. You will be part of one of the school's student support teams and, at the direction of the assistant principal, conduct assessments of students' need for special support as well as establish, follow up on, evaluate and close intervention plans. Together with the student support team, you will work to support the school's work teams and create the best possible learning environment for our students. You are also expected to work on the school's development initiatives together with colleagues and be receptive to ideas and suggestions. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a certified primary/secondary school teacher and holds a specialist teacher degree with a focus on language, writing and reading development or mathematics. It is advantageous if you have previously worked as a specialist teacher and taught students in need of special support. It is also advantageous if you have experience with targeted support measures within Swedish and/or mathematics. For this role, we are looking for someone with strong collaborative skills who enjoys working closely with classroom teachers and student support teams to achieve the school's common goals.
