We offer you
Bergaskolan is a grades F-6 school beautifully located between the river and Göta Kanal. We have approximately 240 students and 40 educators. The after-school program is connected to our classrooms and Brunnsparken is just outside our school grounds as our nearest neighbor. All our educators have high expectations for their teaching and for students; we adapt based on differences and needs. We are now looking for a special education teacher who, together with our current special education teacher, will work with grades F-6.
Job Description
In your role as a special education teacher, your main responsibility is to plan, implement, and follow up on instruction based on special education approaches and methods. You also work to create a good learning environment both physically and socially, to remove obstacles and difficulties, and to develop alternative learning environments and learning tools. In your role as a special education teacher at Bergaskolan, you contribute your expertise in work with pedagogical assessments, additional adjustments, and intervention programs. With the students' best interests in focus, you collaborate with other staff and are an important member of the school's student support team. You also participate in the school's work to develop operations in accordance with national and local governing documents. Questions regarding inclusion and core values are a natural part of your daily work.
Qualifications
You have experience and certification for work as a teacher in primary school's earlier grades and also have an advanced degree in special education, which gives you in-depth knowledge about reading, writing, and language development or mathematics development. You are well familiar with current governing documents and carry out your work in accordance with science and proven experience. You have demonstrated skill working with students who need to work a bit harder to reach their goals, strong social skills, and can bring your colleagues along in adapting instruction and thinking outside conventional frameworks when there is a need for it. You work in a structured manner to improve the quality of instruction and see opportunities where you need to test and retest. You create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues and actively participate in the school's collective tasks where you contribute with ideas, solutions, and experience.
