Welcome to Olofström! Olofströms kommun is seeking a Special Education Teacher - Intellectual Disabilities for adapted primary school at Högavångsskolan. About the School Högavångsskolan is Olofströms kommun's upper secondary school and is centrally located in Olofström, near nature, culture, and municipal services. The school has approximately 464 students in grades 7–9 and around 70 engaged staff members who work together to create safe, inclusive, and knowledge-rich learning environments. We have strong collaboration between subject areas and student support services, and we continuously work to develop instruction so all students can achieve their full potential. Responsibilities You will work as a special education teacher in adapted primary school at our upper secondary school, collaborating closely with other teachers and assistants throughout the school day. As a special education teacher, you are part of a team where you and your colleagues plan, teach, and document based on the curriculum. Examples of tasks included in the role: conduct pedagogical assessments implement educational initiatives based on identified school needs provide guidance to school educators and work teams support analysis work at individual, group, and organizational levels help create positive learning environments for all students, with a focus on group and organizational levels implement targeted, individual interventions for students who need them serve as a resource in instruction and provide accommodations and support for students based on their specific difficulties Qualifications Credentials as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. Meritorious: experience teaching in adapted primary school and/or in special instruction groups. Teachers with other credentials for grades 1–9 and experience working in adapted primary school are also welcome to apply.
