JOB RESPONSIBILITIES At Handskerydsskolan, we believe that all students can succeed based on their abilities. We work with high expectations, strong relationships, and student support services closely integrated with teaching. For us, student support is not just about addressing difficulties when they arise, but about working preventatively and promotively to create the best possible conditions for learning, safety, and goal achievement. We work purposefully to build student support that makes a difference in students' learning. We believe in early interventions, close collaboration between student support and teaching, and a strong focus on preventative and promotional work. By identifying and addressing student needs early, we create better conditions for development, learning, and goal achievement. We therefore prioritize early interventions and view the specialist teacher's expertise as an important part of this work. Our current student support team consists of a special education teacher, two specialist teachers focusing on language, reading and writing development, school counselor, school nurse, psychologist, and school leadership. Now we are seeking the missing puzzle piece to further strengthen our work with student learning and goal achievement: a specialist teacher with a mathematics focus. As a specialist teacher in mathematics, you are an important part of the school's student support work. You work to identify needs early, conduct pedagogical assessments, and contribute specialized educational expertise to develop instruction and create accessible learning environments. Your duties include, among other things: conduct pedagogical assessments and evaluations within mathematics, plan, implement, and follow up on specialized educational interventions, support students in need of special support, guidance and support teachers with matters concerning mathematics development, additional adaptations, and special support, contribute to the development of accessible learning environments, analyze results and identify areas for development, collaborate with the school's student support team in preventative, promotional, and intervention work, contribute to the school's strategic work for increased goal achievement. The position involves close collaboration with the school's special education teacher, other specialist teachers, teachers, and other professionals within student support. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking a licensed teacher with a specialist teacher qualification in mathematics development. You have solid knowledge of student mathematics development and mathematics difficulties, as well as the ability to apply your knowledge in practice. You work in a structured and solution-focused manner and have a relational approach to students, guardians, and colleagues. We would appreciate if you: have experience working as a specialist teacher or in other relevant special education work, have the ability to analyze student needs and plan interventions based on these, value working at individual, group, and organizational levels, enjoy collaborating and building strong relationships, want to help develop the school's preventative and promotional student support work, share our belief that early interventions, accessible learning environments, and close collaboration between student support and teaching are crucial for student success.
