Åbyängskolan is a preschool through grade 6 school located in Gamleby with approximately 240 students. Our school has a wonderful outdoor environment, and we place great emphasis on outdoor activities, movement, pulse/motor-enhancing exercises, and "brain-breaks" as part of our daily routine. Åbyängskolan's goal is to have well-educated and engaged staff with shared responsibility for all students. In all work teams, staff aim to see and speak with each child and intervene in cases of harassment or conflicts. We have extended recess periods with planned activities and many adults supervising the children.

We are now looking for a Special Education Teacher at Åbyängskolan!
Your Responsibilities
We are looking for a special education teacher who can be a central part of our work with students and student wellbeing. You are able to work flexibly based on different students' needs, and it is crucial that you meet all students with a positive attitude and help them progress in their development.
You will be part of the school's student wellbeing team and participate in our student wellbeing efforts, so it is very important that you can collaborate and support teachers in how we best help students develop. You will conduct assessments of students' strengths and challenges, mentor teachers and other staff in daily work with students, and work in a team with the school's special education specialist and other special education teachers as well as other student wellbeing professionals. Close collaboration with work teams and direct involvement with students is essential.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone with teacher training and a special education teacher certification. Previous experience in pedagogical work at a preschool through grade 6 school is desirable.
To succeed and thrive with us, you need to have a fundamental understanding of the importance of relationships for success, excellent collaboration skills, be receptive, and have an easy time understanding others' perspectives. You need to be confident, stable, and have good self-awareness. It is important in this role that you have well-developed pedagogical skills. You have a good understanding of how children and young people acquire knowledge and the different conditions for learning. It is also important that you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances in the organization.
