The Pediatric Care department in Norrbotten is a county clinic and is part of the Division of Medicine and Emergency Care. Here, the specialties of pediatrics and adolescent medicine and pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation work closely together, and extensive collaboration is conducted with child and adolescent psychiatry as well as with other care partners within and outside Region Norrbotten. The largest pediatric facilities are located at Gällivare and Sunderby hospitals, where the county's inpatient care is also provided. Pediatric outpatient clinics are located in Gällivare, Sunderbyn, Piteå, Kalix, and Kiruna, and all locations except Kiruna also have pediatric and adolescent rehabilitation services. The Gällivare operation has just over 50 employees with a wide range of expertise. The operation is mainly located in Gällivare, with a smaller clinic in Kiruna. The catchment area is small in terms of population but large in terms of area. Given the large distances, a multifaceted operation is conducted where virtually all patient categories are cared for. On the physician side, we currently have three senior physicians and one specialist physician in Gällivare. We are looking for We are now looking for you who are a specialist in pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Merits include professional experience, on-call competence and/or research experience. Knowledge of the electronic health record systems VAS and Cosmic as well as language skills in minority languages are also advantageous. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. What you will work with The pediatric ward at Gällivare has eight beds where children up to 18 years of age are cared for, with neonatal care from 32 weeks gestation. We conduct standard pediatric outpatient activities as well as pediatric rehabilitation services. We have good collaboration with other pediatric care in Norrbotten and well-functioning national and regional contacts. The clinic and hospital are characterized by the short decision-making paths and family-like atmosphere of a small hospital. Within Pediatrics, we currently have 3 experienced senior physicians and one specialist physician as well as a number of recurring physician locums. Because the clinic serves a small population base combined with large geographic distances to the next level of care, there is great responsibility in being able to manage emergency care for a variety of conditions.
