The Mammography Unit is a county-wide service located in Gävle, Bollnäs, and Hudiksvall. We perform nearly all types of mammography examinations, ultrasound, and biopsies, and conduct both mammography screening and diagnostic activities. The service is technology and knowledge-intensive and requires continuous development. We have a well-staffed physician team with a total of five senior physicians with extensive knowledge and experience in mammography. Our primary mission is to invite participants to the screening program and subsequent diagnostic workups. We also care for clinical breast patients. We are approximately 25 employees who form a cohesive team with extensive knowledge, commitment, and job satisfaction. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS As a specialist physician with us, you will work both independently and as part of a well-functioning interdisciplinary team with other professions and competencies to deliver high-quality and comprehensive care for our patients. Your closest colleagues include radiologists, radiologic technologists, registered nurses, nursing assistants, and administrative staff. The work includes all types of appointments, scheduled diagnostic workups and follow-ups, as well as screening activities. The work pace is high with variety and great opportunity to influence your own schedule. We maintain close collaboration with the surgical breast clinic and operations, as well as with the pathology department. As a specialist physician with us, you will work with • review of mammography examinations from both screening and clinical services • perform diagnostic workups with ultrasound-guided punctures and biopsies and conduct multidisciplinary rounds • stereotactic breast biopsies • vacuum excisions • preoperative indications • galactography • breast MRI. We see that you are a person who is responsive and finds it easy to collaborate and communicate with others, as the work involves close contact with colleagues, referring physicians, and patients. You should be open to and interested in change and development, and appreciate varied work in a fast-paced environment. In the role of specialist physician, you should • hold Swedish physician licensure with obtained specialist competency in radiology or equivalent • be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, at a minimum of C1 level. Documented experience in mammography, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided and stereotactic punctures/biopsies is considered meritorious.
