About the Company Our client is a growing Swedish tech company that builds high-performance, cloud-based systems for the gaming and betting industry. From the central Stockholm office, they develop transaction-intensive real-time platforms that must deliver around the clock. The team consists of approximately 50 people distributed between Stockholm and Malta, with low bureaucracy and high technical standards. About the Role We're looking for a backend test engineer who is a developer at heart. You'll be the team's technical quality hub: you build test tools and automation in Java, test APIs and integration flows, and dig into production logs and databases when something needs to be explained. The role also includes elements of release management and light DevOps work. This is not a pure automation role. We're looking for someone who thrives switching between building tools and hands-on testing, and who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. What You'll Do Test APIs and integration flows in an event-driven microservices environment Build and further develop test frameworks and tools in Java Debug production logs and databases Contribute to release work and CI/CD pipelines Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams in a small, fast-paced team Who We're Looking For Must-haves: At least 5 years of professional experience, with a background as a backend developer Hands-on Java—you can build your own test tools and frameworks Experience with API and integration testing Comfortable debugging via logs and databases Fluent Swedish and English EU citizenship or valid work permit Personality: drive, ownership, and curiosity Merits: Kafka or other event-driven architecture Release management and CI/CD (e.g., Bitbucket, Bamboo) AWS and Linux-based environments Experience from gaming/betting industry or other transaction-intensive systems Practical Information Location: Central Stockholm Employment Type: Permanent Position Start Date: October 1st or by agreement Interviews begin in early August Recruitment Process Initial call with Lynqa Interview with the team In-depth technical interview Reference checks Offer This is a direct recruitment.
