About the Position We are looking for three committed social workers to join our fantastic team in Östersund Municipality. Are you a trained social worker with experience in social investigations and curious about family foster care? Then this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for! Family Foster Care Center Jämtland Region (FHC) works for seven of the region's eight municipalities. Our core mission is to recruit, investigate, and train foster families as well as match children up to 18 years old with foster care placements. The work team consists of 8 full-time positions with a unit manager working full-time closely with the operations. We are seeking three employees for two permanent positions and one fixed-term position. The fixed-term position runs through August 2027. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Interviews may be held on a rolling basis during the application period. Your New Job As a social worker at FHC, you will work together with your colleagues to meet individuals and families interested in becoming foster families—an additional family when a child cannot live with their biological parents. FHC investigates and trains these families, and the families being investigated may be located within the region or elsewhere in the country, which means the work sometimes involves travel and overnight stays. Your responsibilities also include receiving placement requests for children and young people and matching them with available foster families. The work is interesting and rewarding as you will meet foster families who want to help and support children and young people who haven't had the best start in life. This position suits you if you enjoy investigating, analyzing, and are stimulated by challenges that require problem-solving and creativity. When you start with us, you will receive an introduction and support to grow into your role. We provide collegial support, close leadership, training, and external supervision. Additionally, we offer regular case reviews and opportunities for reflection. Typical Responsibilities Investigate, assess, and make decisions on cases. Case documentation. Urgent assessments of incoming cases. Coordinate with other authorities and partner organizations. Train foster families once you have sufficient experience in the other tasks. Your Qualifications Requirements: You have a degree in social work. You have good computer skills. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You have a driver's license. Meritorious: You have knowledge of current legislation. You have experience working in family foster care, particularly in foster family investigations. We Are Looking for You We believe that your ability to collaborate and build good relationships is one of your strengths. To excel at this, we see that you are both a skilled and active listener who is good at creating open and trusting communication with others, and that you are confident in yourself and attentive to others' needs and opinions. In stressful and challenging situations, you are the one who stays calm and focuses on what matters. This gives you the ability to make well-thought-out decisions and act efficiently. As a social worker, you are used to following laws and guidelines, but at the same time, you are creative and not afraid to think outside the box, which means you often contribute new perspectives and solutions. Finally, it is important that you organize and prioritize your work effectively to ensure that you have time and energy to take care of yourself and create balance between work and personal life. How the Recruitment Process Works We would like you to include a CV and cover letter with your application. Grades/certificates do not need to be submitted initially. We will ask you to provide them if an interview becomes relevant.
