Description
Are you a social worker looking for an exciting position focused on children and young people?
We are seeking a social secretary for the Children and Youth Authority department. The department consists of a reception unit, six investigation units, two of which specialize in domestic violence and youth at risk of criminal activity, and two units for children placed in foster care.
You will work in pleasant facilities at the social services office at Borstbindaregatan 12 A, where all our investigation units and reception are located together in an open office landscape with fixed workstations. The office is centrally located near Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen with excellent public transportation access.
Work Responsibilities
As a social secretary in the reception unit, you will receive reports and applications, assess current needs, conduct safety assessments, and speak with children, young people aged 0-18 years, and their guardians. When needed, you will initiate investigations and hand over the case to colleagues in the investigation units. Case handling and documentation are conducted according to BBIC, and you will work under both SoL and LVU legislation. The children and youth reception unit is divided into 3 teams of 6-7 case handlers each. Each team is led by a Senior Social Secretary.
An important task for the reception unit is to participate in various types of networks, both across Hisingen and with other professional activities, such as collaboration with schools, preschools, healthcare, police, and SSPF. The unit has an information responsibility toward external and internal operations as well as toward residents regarding reporting obligations and the social services' mission, and to provide advice and support.
We consider introduction, supervision, and continuous training a matter of course.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a degree in social work and experience in children and youth authority services. You must have a completed social worker degree. Experience from previous work in children and youth services is considered a merit. Experience in administrative authority work is also a merit.
The reception unit is often the group that first meets vulnerable people and those in need of support, which requires a respectful, professional, and present approach. You are calm, confident, and helpful toward others, even in stressful situations. You have strong commitment to your work and strive to ensure that clients and users receive what they need.
You take responsibility, work in a focused manner, and care about details. You ensure the work is done correctly, monitor and follow up to maintain high quality. You must be able to balance the demands placed on you and, despite time pressure, make well-founded decisions. Decisions you can stand behind and communicate effectively.
