Description The Social Office in Norberg is now seeking an experienced, engaged, and legally sound social secretary for our economic assistance operations. In connection with the implementation of the new activity requirement within economic assistance, we continue to develop our work to create more pathways to self-sufficiency. We are therefore looking for someone with experience in handling economic assistance cases and who wants to help strengthen individuals' opportunities for work, studies, and increased independence. You will be part of a small and closely collaborative work team where we together work to provide the municipality's residents with professional and individually tailored support. In addition to handlers for economic assistance, the team includes social secretaries responsible for harmful substance use and addiction, domestic violence, and social psychiatry. The group also includes activities within elderly care and functional support, a team leader for labor market measures, and a unit manager. We value collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collegial support. As an employee, you actively participate in workplace meetings, regular supervision, and guidance within your area of responsibility. Together we work to develop our operations and ensure legally sound and high-quality case handling. Work Tasks You will meet people in various life situations and will be a central actor in supporting and guiding individuals and families in economic difficulty. Your role includes assessing applications for economic assistance, creating action plans, and collaborating with other actors to ensure that our clients receive the support they need. As a social secretary within economic assistance, you will support and help residents in Norberg. Your work involves legally sound authority exercise in dialogue to understand and analyze individual needs, provide guidance and information about available support options. You will work closely with our clients to create customized action plans and through your work create conditions for others. The assignment includes working together with the individual to create conditions for self-sufficiency and increased participation in society. Conduct assessments of applications for economic assistance and make decisions based on laws and guidelines. Develop and maintain good relationships with clients to create a safe and open dialogue. Provide advice and support to promote social and economic independence among our residents. Collaborate with other authorities and organizations to create comprehensive solutions for clients. Document and follow up on cases carefully, ensuring that all information is correct and current. We are looking for someone who is passionate about social work and wants to help create positive change in society. Qualifications We are looking for someone with experience in handling economic assistance within municipal social services and good knowledge of the Social Services Act and other legislation governing the field. You have experience working toward self-sufficiency and supporting individuals toward employment, studies, or other activities. Since collaboration is an important part of the assignment, we see that you enjoy working with both internal and external actors. You have a good ability to build trusting relationships while being able to set requirements, follow up on agreed services, and make independent decisions. We also value that you contribute to the development of the operations and see the strength in working in a smaller municipality where collaboration and a holistic perspective are central parts of the operation. Conditions We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience with authority exercise within social services and handling economic assistance cases. You express yourself well orally and in writing in Swedish, have good computer skills, and document legally sound and structured work. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position. You have a commitment to supporting people in vulnerable situations and are motivated by working together with the individual toward increased independence and self-sufficiency. Experience working in a smaller municipality is a merit.
