JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We at the Cultural School in Gävle are looking for an inspiring and engaged percussion instructor for a 80% temporary position. We are looking for you who want to share your love of music and guide children and young people in their musical development. As a percussion instructor, you will follow your students' musical journey, from their first steps as beginners to a more advanced level, and inspire them to develop both their musicality and their own expression. It is advantageous if you can teach multiple instruments, but your primary instrument is percussion. Our goal is to offer meaningful activities and make musical life in Gävle accessible to every student. As a temporary employee, you will be an important part of our operation and contribute to creating inspiring and developmental encounters through music. Do you want to be part of this? Your work tasks include: • Teach percussion both individually and in groups, with a focus on developing students' musical skills. • Engage, inspire and motivate children and young people with percussion as the main instrument. • Plan, conduct and follow up on teaching and music pedagogical activities. • Participate in activities during school breaks and if necessary work evenings and weekends. • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the school's pedagogical approach. • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment characterized by diversity. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for an engaged percussion instructor who wants to inspire children and young people in their music learning. You need to be confident in your professional role and have the ability to motivate students at different levels. We would like to see that you use a playful and curious working method, perhaps through creative exercises, rhythmics, musical improvisation or other inspiring methods that awaken the desire to learn and explore music • Requirement: Upper secondary education; advantageous to have a degree in pedagogy or music. • Have good ability to communicate in Swedish. • Demonstrate high professional skills in percussion and the ability to inspire and motivate students. • Advantageous if you can teach multiple instruments. • Experience teaching students both in groups and individually. The Cultural School's activities continue during school breaks and sometimes in the evenings and on weekends, which means that work during these times may occur. Employment form: Fixed-term position.
