Forensic Psychiatry in Örebro consists of five departments with a combined total of 43 inpatient beds. We are currently seeking a substitute caregiver for department 9 at Karlahuset for day, evening, and weekend shifts. The assignment is for the period 270101-270604. The department is divided into two sections, 9A and 9B, and you will be scheduled to work in one of these. We are looking for someone who finds it exciting to work in a developing activity that provides high-quality forensic psychiatric care. When you start working with us, you will receive adequate orientation, and during your employment you will be offered continuous opportunities for professional development. We welcome you to a pleasant workplace with challenging tasks, and the activity conducts several different projects aimed at improving care and patient participation. Work Tasks The patients in our care have been transferred to treatment instead of prison and are cared for according to the Act on Forensic Psychiatric Care (LRV). Care periods are relatively long because patients have complex issues, and the work is systematic, varied, and stimulating. On department 9, patients are well advanced in the care process. This means they are in a discharge phase and much of the rehabilitation takes place outside the department, and collaboration with other stakeholders in the care chain is a significant part of our activity. Care is person-centered with the patient in focus, and as a caregiver, you are the team member who primarily works with psychiatric nursing care in the patient's treatment. You work together with nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers. You also need to be able to work independently and be flexible, as well as have the ability to identify and articulate the specific needs in your area for each individual patient. The work tasks are varied, and as a caregiver you work both individually and in group activities with patients. You are also expected to contribute to the development of the activity and take responsibility for improving the aspects of care you are responsible for. Qualifications We welcome you if you are trained as a caregiver according to the old program structure or are trained as a nursing assistant within the current program structure. You may also have completed caregiver training as a vocational education (YH) program. To assess employability, grades in your care education must be attached to your application. You should have high personal maturity and a strong interest in people. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability, and qualities such as empathy, communication skills, interpersonal manner, and openness to new knowledge are highly valued. A driver's license is a plus but not necessary. Application Your application should contain a CV, personal letter, and grades in completed care courses as well as any certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding protected professional title. Other certificates, grades, diplomas, etc., should be provided at a potential interview. If you are or have previously been employed by Region Örebro County, we will obtain internal references from your current or former manager if you become a candidate for employment.
