The position is located in the Children and Education Administration. We conduct statutory activities in the form of preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and student health services. Within the administration's area of responsibility, there is also a culture school, youth center activities, open preschool, and the municipality's catering unit. The administration works on behalf of the Children and Education Committee. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS What does the work involve? You will primarily work as a psychologist in primary school and possibly in preschool, as it is centrally organized. As a psychologist, you contribute by providing psychological expertise. The school psychologist's primary responsibilities are to promote mental health and prevent mental illness, including by contributing to good learning environments, providing psychological knowledge about, for example, learning strategies, stress, concentration difficulties, and low mood. Health-promoting and preventive work is carried out at the organizational, group, and individual levels through training, lectures, consultation, and supervision. The school psychologist also performs psychological assessments and investigations in cases of suspected intellectual disability. The assignment includes contributing to transitions of individual children with need for extra support in connection with school start or grade transition, and when necessary, maintaining contact with guardians and collaborating with care partners such as BVC, habilitation, and BUP. The work entails great responsibility but within the scope of the assignment there is also great freedom. As a school psychologist, you collaborate with principals and teachers at the schools as well as with your psychology colleague and other professionals within student health services, where you contribute your expertise as a psychologist. The work takes place both at the local school units and as a central administration assignment. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a person with great commitment to promote and develop student health issues based on a clear health-promoting and preventive approach in salutogenic student health work. You are a curious person who enjoys working where there are opportunities for influence and change. Your approach is focused on seeking strengths and resources and emphasizing the individual's potential for development in school work, behavior, and interaction. We value your strong ability to work both independently, in collaboration, and in cooperation with other professionals. Good service and empathy for people in difficult situations are self-evident for you, as is good collaborative ability. You are a licensed psychologist and have experience working as a psychologist, experience with conversations with parents and children in need of special support, and experience and knowledge in consultation, supervision, and investigation. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist has experience in consultation, supervision, and investigation has a good ability to create and maintain trusting relationships can communicate clearly in speech and writing in Swedish. Has the ability to translate psychological knowledge into useful pedagogical interventions. Our schools are located in Stjärnhov, Björnlunda, and centrally in Gnesta, and you need to be able to move between schools smoothly and sometimes during work hours.
