The Education Administration is responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school care, upper secondary schools, adult education, and child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, together creating a safe and developmentally supportive school and childcare environment. Ystad Gymnasium comprises Park and Österport campuses, together offering most upper secondary programs. Park has exclusively vocational programs, Adapted Upper Secondary School, and introductory programs, while Österport offers university-preparatory programs and some vocational programs. The school library has facilities on both campuses. The school has approximately 1,900 students and employs just over 300 staff members. As our school is growing, we now want to expand our school library by adding another librarian. 1 position(s). DUTIES Your main responsibility will be managing library operations at Ystad Gymnasium together with your colleagues. This includes typical school library tasks such as · collaborating with teachers on projects · teaching in classrooms on topics including information literacy and source criticism · promoting reading in various ways, such as visiting classes and recommending books · participating in or independently managing various projects, such as a book club · monitoring developments in the school library field · purchasing and managing media and instructional materials together with your colleagues Beyond typical school library tasks, you and your colleagues are also jointly responsible for the school's instructional materials center. This means you will handle purchasing, unpacking, labeling, registering, and distributing instructional materials to all students at the start of each school year and collecting them at year's end. You and your colleagues in the school library share overall responsibility for managing and operating the libraries at Ystad Gymnasium. QUALIFICATIONS We're looking for someone with a completed librarian degree. You have experience in library work and preferably specifically in school library settings. You have strong pedagogical abilities and a genuine interest in young adult literature and teenagers' everyday lives, circumstances, and challenges. Knowledge of library management systems is desirable. You have good computer skills and enjoy learning new technology and leveraging its possibilities. You enjoy organizing and planning your daily work but must also be flexible and willing to address unexpected challenges that arise. You are solution-focused and have strong collaboration and communication skills, and you enjoy exploring new approaches. It's important that you feel equally comfortable in a collaborative role as you do initiating and independently managing various projects. Since the work involves significant contact with teachers and students, you need to be outgoing and enjoy social interaction to thrive.
