ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking a school librarian for Vintertullsskolan – a resource school for students with neuropsychiatric disabilities, grades 7–9. The school has approximately 75 students and you will be responsible for the school's library. You will promote students' reading and media and information literacy in close collaboration with teachers and student support services. This is a permanent part-time position, 20–25 percent. We apply a probationary employment period. ABOUT VINTERTULLSSKOLAN Vintertullsskolan is one of Stockholm's oldest resource schools and has worked for over 25 years to provide support to students with neuropsychiatric disabilities, primarily autism spectrum disorder. At Vintertullsskolan you work in small teaching groups where individualization and student-centered work are in focus. Thanks to the high staff density, we can create a safe environment and offer support and care according to each student's unique needs. Here you become part of a knowledgeable and engaged team with broad experience in special education and NPF. Warmly welcome to Vintertullsskolan - the small school with big commitment! DUTIES Manage the school's library: purchasing literature within the allocated budget, organizing the collection and creating an inviting library environment. Promote students' reading and language development through reading promotion activities, individually and in groups. Guide students and teachers in information searching, source criticism and digital competence. Collaborate with teachers, student support services and school management so that the library becomes part of the school's educational work. WE ARE LOOKING FOR Someone with a degree in library and information science or equivalent librarian training. Someone with experience in reading promotion work with children or young people, preferably in school libraries. Someone who works independently and in an organized manner and takes responsibility for your activities. Someone who is communicative and collaborates effectively with others both within and outside the organization. Someone who contributes to a good work environment characterized by safety, care and respect for both staff and students at the school. It is meritorious if you have pedagogical experience working with students with NPF, for example through individual interventions for reading and language development. WE OFFER At Vintertullsskolan you become part of a team working together to best support each student's unique needs. As responsible for the school's library, you have great freedom to shape the activities, and thanks to our school's small size, you also have the opportunity to actively participate in educational development and help develop one of Sweden's leading resource schools. OTHER The application is subject to background checks and you must provide an extract from the police criminal record before employment.
