Kvarnbyskolan serves approximately 520 students in grades 7–9. For several years, the school has achieved excellent academic results, reflected in high grade point averages. The school fosters close collaboration between students, staff, and the community, providing current and sought-after education where each student's development is central. We have approximately 50 teachers, and the school has a student welfare team that includes a school nurse, school psychologist, school physician, counselor, and two special education teachers. The school's safety team actively works to prevent harassment and bullying. The school has its own study and career counselor who helps students develop plans for their future. We are now looking to hire a school librarian at 80% to contribute to student development. JOB DUTIES You will have full responsibility for a school library serving students in grades 7–9. Your role is to develop the school library and its educational activities. We want you to promote reading both independently and in collaboration with the school's other educational staff. You will guide students in information searching and source criticism, both digitally and in print. You are someone who enjoys working with children and young people, inspiring them to read, and fostering engagement with literature and knowledge. You will plan and implement activities that strengthen the library's role in student learning. QUALIFICATIONS A degree from a library science program or equivalent education as assessed by the employer. You take responsibility for your own and shared tasks with student wellbeing as the focus. You take your duties seriously, are committed to completing what you start, and ensure work is carried out properly. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and new information. You can quickly shift your perspective and approach, and see opportunities in change. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others and work to present solutions.
