The Surgery and Gastroenterology department at Skåne University Hospital includes surgical and gastroenterological services in Malmö and Lund, as well as surgical services in Landskrona. We provide specialized and highly specialized care. The Colorectal Surgery Department in Malmö is an elective ward that cares for patients undergoing surgical procedures on the intestines. The department has 20 beds and we work in teams with physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and the rehabilitation team. The department is located in new facilities on the hospital grounds in Malmö. We strive to work based on evidence and with patient-centered care. Staff actively participate in various groups to develop and advance our operations. 2 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES With us, you will have an exciting and developmental job in a pleasant work environment. You will be surrounded by friendly and competent colleagues with extensive experience. As a nurse, you will work with preoperative preparations and postoperative care for patients who have undergone colorectal surgery. Stoma care is an important part of treatment. You will also work with advanced pain management and be responsible for medical treatment. Staff specializing in pain management visit several times per week to follow up on pain treatment. ERAS standard care plans are applied to ensure safe and quality care for our patients, which will help develop your clinical eye and documentation skills. We offer a comprehensive orientation program that we follow up on regularly so you feel confident when you begin working independently with your patients. Additionally, we have internal lectures within the department that we plan together with our staff. You have the opportunity to plan your schedule yourself as we use TimeCare, so you can plan your clinical baseline year from the beginning (if you are newly trained). Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Regarding formal qualifications, you are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language proficiency at minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe language scale is a requirement.
