The Neuro-Head-Neck Center (NHHC) at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå has approximately 650 employees. Here, highly specialized care is provided in neurology, stroke, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Neurocentrum is responsible for the care of patients from the entire northern healthcare region and conducts research, education, and development.
The Stroke Center's mission is to care for, treat, and rehabilitate patients with stroke and TIA. We work in an unbroken care chain: acute – subacute - rehabilitation - stroke home rehab – nurse clinic, traffic medicine, and rehabilitation clinic. Our work is guided by the National Board of Health and Welfare's National Guidelines and person-centered care pathways for stroke and TIA. Quality is monitored through Riksstroke, a national quality register for stroke care.
The Stroke Ward has 12 care beds distributed across two care teams. We have a receptionist, discharge coordinator, and charge nurse to support your work.
When you start with us, you are offered Stroke Competence Training, which provides 3 credits.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse on the stroke ward, you are an important part of our multiprofessional team. We work in teams in close collaboration with nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech therapists, and physicians. Your duties include delivering patient-safe stroke care in both the acute and rehabilitation phases. The work is varied and developmental with a strong focus on teamwork where communication is of great importance. We are looking for someone who is responsible and confident in making independent decisions and who can efficiently prioritize tasks. You are positive toward development and research, which is largely conducted at our center.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a licensed registered nurse who wants to develop in your professional role. You are communicative and have a talent for building relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues. You see the value of working together as a team, take your own initiative, and deliver patient-safe care.
As a person, you are responsible, structured, and organized with good planning and prioritization skills. You are flexible and can adapt to changing circumstances. We also see that you are driven, solution-oriented, and quick to identify needs.
