Are you a nurse interested in highly specialized neurological care? Do you want to work on a department with both acute admissions and planned hospitalizations, investigations, and treatments? Then 85D is the workplace for you! Our operations On Neurology Department 85D, you will meet patients with a wide variety of neurological diagnoses. Neurological diseases and conditions can affect patients of all ages, which means our patient population varies in terms of age and underlying conditions. Hospital stays range from one day to several weeks. Here, adult patients with diseases and injuries to the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems are investigated and treated. Common disease groups that we investigate and treat include Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), myasthenia gravis, and motor neuron disease (MND). We also see patients who have acutely developed inflammatory, autoimmune, or infection-triggered conditions with neurological symptoms such as encephalitis, meningitis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. For patients being investigated or with epilepsy, there are two rooms for 24-hour EEG monitoring. The department has 12 care beds distributed across two teams. With us, you will have a workday that is educational, varied, and meaningful. The day can consist of pre- and postoperative preparations, infusion treatments, medication administration and follow-ups, as well as caring for patients who arrive as planned or emergencies. There are hundreds of different neurological diseases and conditions, which contributes to broad knowledge among the staff with a strong focus on individualized care. You will work daily with nursing assistants, physicians, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, as well as closely with pharmacists, speech-language pathologists, and dietitians. We place great emphasis on professional development and offer weekly lectures and continuous simulation training based on the SMART concept. At the same time, we actively work to create a good and sustainable work environment where we support each other and enjoy working. Each term, we offer specialized courses in neurological and neurosurgical care. Your assignment As a nurse with us, you will be an important part of a dedicated and conscientious team. • Oversee a care team and provide care to patients in both acute and planned phases. • Collaborate with different professional disciplines to provide the patient with safe, secure, and holistic care. • Support the patient and family in educating them on medical-technical products. • Identify and assist with care planning needs. Your qualifications You are a licensed nurse – experienced or newly graduated – who wants to develop within neurology. Your competencies You are curious about finding the underlying causes of symptoms and are an important person for the patient and family during a life-changing time. • You are a confident, stable, and considerate nurse who works in a structured manner. • You are curious, solution-oriented, and have a positive attitude. • You are collaboration-oriented and thrive in a team. • You have the ability to prioritize and stay calm even when the pace is high. • You are interested in medical-technical products and advanced medication treatments.
