We are now seeking a licensed nurse for a flexible hourly position with a focus on night shifts within our home care service.
About the Position
Working nights in Ovanåkers Municipality's home care means a unique and responsible assignment. During the quiet hours of the night, you are the central medical support for our patients in Edsbyn, Alfta, and the surrounding rural areas.
This is an hourly position, meaning you work when regular staff are on vacation, on leave, or during temporary busy periods. It gives you great opportunities to manage your own schedule and combine the job with studies or other activities.
Your Responsibilities
Night work is independent and varied. Your main tasks are to:
Make assessments: You visit and assess patients who deteriorate during the night.
Provide medical care: You are responsible for pain relief, palliative care at end of life, wound care and catheters (catheter-associated complications).
Manage medications: You administer medicines via injections, infusions, and pain pumps.
Support night staff: You are medically responsible and provide guidance to nursing assistants and care workers via phone or on-site.
Collaborate with doctors: When needed, you contact the on-call doctor or call an ambulance.
Document: You write in patient records and report to day staff in the morning.
We are looking for someone who thrives with both the calm and the unpredictability that night work entails. You are confident in your professional role, have good ability to make independent decisions under time pressure, and remain calm in acute situations.
This is an hourly position, which is perfect if you want to combine it with studies, another job, or manage your working hours yourself.

A valid driver's license (manual/automatic) is an absolute requirement to travel between patients.
Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
