The Research Clinic is part of Internal Medicine within the Acute Care and Internal Medicine Division. Here we conduct clinical research primarily in type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. We conduct population studies, clinical trials, metabolic studies, and drug trials. We also perform technical examinations such as cardiac and vascular ultrasound, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and EKG, measurement of vascular stiffness, measurement of endothelial function, ankle-brachial index, and spirometry as part of several different research projects. At our clinic, research nurses, biomedical analysts, physicians, professors, nursing assistants, study coordinator, IT coordinator, and administrative staff work together. WORK RESPONSIBILITIES In your role as a nurse, you will work both independently and together with your colleagues with responsibility for patient visits that may include administering study medications, blood sampling, handling of research samples, EKG and blood pressure measurements. You will also perform administrative tasks such as study logistics, study protocol entry, study preparations, documentation in research protocols and computer systems, and appointment scheduling. The focus is on implementation and coordination of research studies, where you use your competence to ensure high quality, patient safety, and good research practice. The position involves daytime work. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are required. You have very good knowledge of English and feel comfortable using English in speech and writing. Good computer skills are a must as a large part of the work takes place in several different computer systems. In addition, you have at least five years of experience working as a nurse. You have strong motivation to work with research and clinical trials and see this as your future career direction. It is a merit if you have previously worked as a research nurse and have experience starting new studies. We are looking for you who are positive, flexible, and have a strong sense of responsibility and initiative. You enjoy working independently but also value teamwork. Furthermore, you have a friendly and respectful manner and a pronounced service mentality, which is central in your interactions with both colleagues and study participants. At the same time, the projects require a high degree of persistence; although each project is unique, the practical execution must be identical so that the results are reliable. This means that the work can contain constant repetitions of the same procedures, where your ability to maintain focus and precision is crucial. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
