About the position Day Surgery Lounge is a developmental and attractive workplace where we provide our patients with high-quality pre- and postoperative nursing care. We are unique in our mission as we care for patients from several different specialties, including reconstructive plastic surgery, craniofacial diseases, jaw surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, and sarcoma. Patients come to us in the morning before their scheduled surgery. We are responsible for preoperative care, perform checks according to checklists, administer premedication, and prepare the patient for surgery. After surgery, the patient is initially cared for in the recovery unit and then returns to Day Surgery Lounge. Here we are responsible for postoperative care by, among other things, ensuring pain relief, mobilization, and that prescriptions are followed before the patient goes home. This position is a one-year temporary assignment. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday.
