About Us
Radiation Therapy Sahlgrenska is Sweden's largest radiation therapy department. The catchment area is VGR and Halland. We treat cancer patients of all ages.
We are seeking a nurse who will initially work in brachytherapy and, after a few years, pursue further education in Radiation Therapy (45 hp). The education is provided by Gothenburg University and conducted during work hours with full salary.
After completing the approved education, you will have radiation therapy expertise and be able to provide radiation treatment to cancer patients.
Radiation therapy is an exciting field with high patient benefit where the combination of nursing care and high-tech expertise is challenging and rewarding!

About the Job
Brachytherapy is an operating department that is part of Radiation Therapy Sahlgrenska, where the radiation source is placed inside the patient, as opposed to external radiation therapy delivered by linear accelerator. The most common patient groups are prostate and cervical cancer, where brachytherapy is part of the oncological treatment. You work in a team with specialist nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, and hospital physicists.
About You
To apply for this position, you must have a permanent employment contract with your current placement at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. You should have previous experience working as a nurse with cancer patients. We see it as an advantage if you have experience with sterile preparation and preoperative nursing care.
Since you work in a team and have contacts with various partners, you need to have good collaboration skills. You are secure and stable in yourself and can both adapt to situations and prioritize.
