About the position The Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic in Solna is a specialist clinic that receives children and young people ages 0–18 with a broad range of endocrine and metabolic diagnoses. The clinic's team includes nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors, as well as health professionals such as a dietitian. The clinic has a high patient volume, with approximately 150 physician consultations, 25 nurse consultations, and 8–10 day-care examinations conducted each week. The clinic's mission encompasses 2500 endocrine patients and approximately 400 metabolic patients. As a nurse at the Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic, your week varies greatly. From providing telephone advice and consultations via 1177.se and booking patient appointments, to preparing children for their physician visits. Another task involves blood draws, sometimes performed with nitrous oxide treatment for certain children with needle anxiety, for example. We also conduct various types of stress tests where peripheral venous catheters are placed, samples are collected, and medications are administered by injection. As a nurse, you will also conduct your own nurse consultations, meeting children, young people, and their families who are starting treatment with injections, for example, and providing education in self-care. The team has some specialization based on diagnostic groups, and as a nurse, you will manage one or more diagnostic groups, which may also include patients from outside the region.
