WORK TASKS
Here is what you will work with
As a nurse in the orthopedic geriatric unit section, you are responsible for the care of patients with varying monitoring needs together with doctors, nursing assistants and other professional disciplines. Our patients have varying care needs that create a varying pace of work with sometimes rapid changes in patients' conditions. No two days are the same here.
We care for patients with common orthopedic diagnoses such as hip fractures, amputations and vertebral compression fractures. The section has 10 care beds, which are divided into two teams of five care beds each, and staffed by 2 doctors, two nursing assistants and four nursing assistants.
· Pre- and postoperative care
· Wound care especially after surgery
· Rehabilitation support where the nurse collaborates with physiotherapists and occupational therapists
· Care assessments and follow-ups in close collaboration with other professional groups in the team
· Participation in improvement work and quality development related to patient safety and work environment
