This is a combination position between Medical Day Care and Oncology Department 40 in Växjö, where you work 60% at day care and 40% at the department. At Medical Day Care, you work daytime hours and meet patients receiving various types of intravenous treatments, such as blood transfusions, cytostatics, and biological medications. Care ranges from acute interventions to planned treatments lasting from a few hours to a full day. At Oncology Department 40, you work with both hematology and oncology. Cytostatika treatments are provided here, and palliative care is also part of the assignment. The department has open intake 24/7 and also serves as advisory support for day care patients when the day care is closed. Work here involves rotation between day, evening, and night shifts as well as duty every third weekend. Both units are characterized by close collaboration between different professions and strong teamwork that creates security for both patients and staff. JOB DUTIES As a nurse with us, you have a central role in the patient's care pathway. The work involves independent assessments, planning and follow-up of treatments, while maintaining close collaboration with physicians and other professionals. You are responsible for ensuring that patients receive safe, secure, and well-cared-for treatment throughout their treatment journey. In your daily work, you will, among other things, prepare and administer intravenous treatments, observe patients' reactions, manage changing care needs, and make clinical decisions based on the patient's condition. You guide and inform patients and their relatives, and you participate in coordination between day care and the department. Because many patients receiving treatments at Medical Day Care are also cared for at Oncology Department 40, your role creates natural continuity. Patients meet a familiar face, which contributes to security, trust, and a more cohesive care experience. You become an important part in creating calm and stability in situations that are often both emotionally and medically demanding.
