Your new job As a service technician with a focus on civil preparedness, you work with service, maintenance, and development of equipment and functions that strengthen the municipality's preparedness and continuity capabilities. The role combines practical work in operations with planning, documentation, and development of working methods and procedures. You work closely with the municipality's operations, suppliers, authorities, and other partners. Together with a colleague, you are responsible for important functions within service, preparedness, and continuity work and contribute to ensuring the municipality is well-equipped for both everyday situations and crises. The position is based at our facilities within Jönköping Municipality and is carried out largely in our various operations and facilities. The role is mobile and involves working independently with the help of service vehicles and technical equipment. Work tasks - Operation, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of backup power and other equipment related to civil preparedness and continuity work - Installation, functional checks, and practical handling of equipment and materials - Inventory, warehouse management, documentation, and follow-up of completed work - Participation in exercises, training, and incidents where you contribute technical expertise and support - Development of working methods, procedures, and technical solutions within the operational area - Collaboration with the municipality's operations, suppliers, authorities, and other external stakeholders - Support in budgeting, planning, and follow-up work, as well as other tasks within the operational area Your competence To thrive in this role, we see that you have an interest in technology, societal operations, and preparedness issues. Requirements - Upper secondary education with a technical focus or other experience that the employer deems equivalent - Experience with service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of technical equipment, machinery, or vehicles - Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and technical systems as well as preventive maintenance - Experience independently planning, prioritizing, performing, and documenting work tasks - Good computer skills and experience working in digital systems for documentation and follow-up - Good collaboration skills and experience with contacts from various internal and external stakeholders - Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written - Category B driver's license - Good physical capability as the work involves lifting and handling equipment Meritorious - Electrical safety certification is highly meritorious for the position - Category C and CE driver's licenses - Post-secondary education in technology or civil preparedness - Education in crisis preparedness, total defense, or civil protection - Experience working in preparedness, continuity work, or other societal operations What we offer you Varied and developmental work with great personal responsibility where you get the opportunity to contribute to and develop the municipality's preparedness work together with engaged colleagues. Preparedness work may be included and the position may be subject to security vetting according to the Security Protection Act. Inconvenient working hours may occur in connection with exercises, training, disruptions to operations, and other extraordinary events. Work outside ordinary working hours may occur during acute operational disruptions or when operational needs require it. Travel within the municipality and to other locations may occur in the position.
