Service Staff / Head Waiter – FIKA & Wine, Gamla Stan We're growing – and looking for reinforcement ahead of the holidays Are you confident in service, enjoy people, and thrive when it's busy – while also having an eye for details and genuinely great hospitality? Then you might be who we're looking for at FIKA & Wine. FIKA & Wine is located at Österlånggatan 26 in the heart of Gamla Stan, in historic 16th-century vaults where Swedish food tradition, fika, and drinking culture meet in a warm and personal setting. We opened in our new premises on October 8 and got a fantastic start with many guests and very positive feedback. Now we're taking the next step. In preparation for the Christmas rush, we're also opening the neighboring premises at Österlånggatan 28, which means more seating, more guests, and a larger team. We're therefore now looking for several experienced service professionals who want to be part of our most intensive period – and preferably longer. About the position We're open to different arrangements depending on who you are and what you're looking for. It can be: * Special fixed-term employment through January 10 * 50%, 75%, or higher percentage * Opportunity for more hours during the intensive Christmas period * Long-term employment for the right person Start date by agreement, preferably as soon as possible. We're primarily looking for you if you have experience in service and feel confident taking responsibility. If you have experience as a head waiter or team leader, that's a big plus. Part of the Swedish experience Many of our guests are international visitors who come to us to experience Stockholm, Swedish food, and Swedish fika culture. Therefore, service at our restaurant is about more than just serving food and drinks. Our guests might want to know what a semla or prinsesstårta is, what Swedish home cooking really means, which Swedish dishes they should try, or how to find Stockholm Castle. That's why we appreciate you if you're curious about Sweden, Stockholm, and Swedish food and fika culture, and enjoy sharing that knowledge with our guests. In this role, you'll work with, among other things: * Personal guest service and hospitality * À la carte service of food and beverages * Table seating, reservations, and guest reception * Cash handling * Upselling and recommending food, wine, and beverages * Groups, larger parties, and private events * Collaboration between dining room, bar, and kitchen * Presenting and telling the story of our Swedish dishes, pastries, and beverages * Coordinating the service flow * Team leadership during service for those with appropriate experience We help each other. We're looking for people who see what needs to be done, take own responsibility, and understand that a truly great restaurant experience is created together. We're looking for you if you Are social, confident, and professional with both Swedish and international guests. You have energy and pace when needed, but can also maintain calm and overview when the restaurant is full. You're self-motivated, solution-oriented, unpretentious, and genuinely enjoy people and service. Requirements * At least 3 years of experience from a restaurant, service, or equivalent service profession * Experience in service * Excellent Swedish * Excellent English * Ability to communicate confidently with both Swedish and international guests * Responsibility and ability to work independently * Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends Merits * Experience as a head waiter, shift leader, or team leader * Experience with à la carte service * Knowledge of Swedish food culture and classic Swedish home cooking * Knowledge of Swedish fika, pastries, traditions, and holidays * Good local knowledge of Gamla Stan and Stockholm * Interest in Swedish culture and history * Experience with international guests and tourism * Knowledge and interest in wine and other beverages * Sommelier training or other relevant beverage training * Additional languages besides Swedish and English We offer You'll be joining FIKA & Wine during an exciting expansion phase. With Österlånggatan 26 and the new neighboring premises at Österlånggatan 28, we're continuing to develop our Swedish restaurant concept in the heart of one of Stockholm's most international environments. If you primarily want to work intensively during the Christmas period, there's the opportunity for a time-limited position. If you're looking for something long-term, there's the opportunity to continue and develop with the business. We're more interested in finding the right people than having everyone fit into exactly the same employment arrangement.
