Linköping Cathedral Parish is the principal authority for funeral services in central Linköping and manages cemeteries in the city center, the cemetery in Lilla Aska, and the graveyard in Landeryd. The principal authority is responsible for arranging and providing burial plots, including for those who do not belong to the Swedish Church or other religious communities, receiving remains for storage and viewing, managing burials and cremations, and providing facilities for funeral ceremonies.
Our cemetery department is responsible for maintaining our cemeteries and burial grounds, thereby preserving our cultural heritage.
We are now seeking a service worker for the Machinery and Service unit. This is a broad position where you will have the opportunity to work in a service-oriented manner in collaboration with colleagues in a team of 10 people.
About the Position
As a service worker with us, you will be part of a funeral operation with the goal of always providing excellent service and quality. We work dedicatedly to meet the requirements placed on us as the principal authority for funeral services, and we also have clear objectives and guidelines regarding environmental and safety matters.
The position includes the following work tasks:
Perform grave digging/burials
Various machinery operation, for example earth handling, grass cutting, snow removal
Conduct external property maintenance at the parish's approximately 30 properties
Internal service to other units
Perform services on behalf of other surrounding parishes
Minor landscaping work within green areas
Standby duty may be required during the snow removal period.
The cemetery department consists of three units: cemetery, crematory, and machinery and service, and you will become part of the latter unit.
About You
We are looking for someone who has completed horticultural training or equivalent. You need to have good machinery experience and we would appreciate it if you have experience in a similar position or work within the construction industry.
As a person, you have a positive and humble attitude and a good ability to build relationships and collaborate with others. We value that you are service-oriented and solution-focused. To succeed in this role, you also need to be responsible, thorough, and committed to delivering well-executed work. It is also important that you are driven and can work both independently and in a group. We place great importance on personal qualities.
The position requires a Class B driver's license, and Class BE and C driver's licenses are desirable.
