At our development center in Linköping, we develop next-generation sensor systems and instruments in close collaboration with colleagues in Europe, USA, and Asia. The INFICON Group has close to 1,700 employees and generates annual revenues of 670 MUSD. In Linköping, operations are conducted at Ebbepark with just over 20 employees. INFICON is in strong growth within an exciting market with several expanding industrial sectors. We are now seeking a specialist in sensor technology for our innovative R&D department in Linköping. You will become our local expert while working in close, global collaboration with leading engineers at our other innovation centers in Cologne and Syracuse. About the Position As a Sensor Technology Specialist at INFICON, you will have a key role in developing the sensor technology of the future. You will work with innovation and development while following solutions through to finished product. The role offers a unique combination of sensor technology, thin-film technology, and instrument development in an international environment. In this role, you will: Develop and evaluate chemical and physical sensor systems Work with thin-film technology and sputtering processes Integrate sensors into instrument platforms Participate in the entire development chain from concept to product launch Collaborate with international development teams Contribute to technical decision-making, documentation, and standards work In summary, the work is about understanding and building sensor systems in an instrument – not only from a technical perspective, but also from a user and reliability perspective. This means working largely within our local development group, but also in collaboration with colleagues from other units in the Group, for example, in Germany, USA, and Malaysia. Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering Physics, Materials Science, Sensor Technology, or related field. Experience in development and integration of chemical and physical sensor systems Understanding of signal processing and algorithms Knowledge of thin-film technology – vacuum technology, sputtering Experience in or understanding of instrument and systems development Some experience and understanding of patent work, technical documentation, technical regulations, and standards Understanding of gas handling and gas properties Personal Qualities We believe you are curious, analytical, and driven by solving complex technical problems.
