The Education Unit is one of ten units within the university's joint administration and employs approximately 100 people. The position is placed at the Education Unit, the Student and Education Support Section - one of the unit's five sections. For more information about educational support at the university, see; http://www.gu.se/studera/plugga-pa-universitetet/studera-med-funktionsnedsattning and http://www.studentportal.gu.se/pedagogisktstod Job Responsibilities The position is divided between two assignments: 50% as coordinator for educational support and 50% coordination of mentor programs. Coordinator for Educational Support As a coordinator for educational support, you work with support for students with documented permanent disabilities. A large part of the work consists of individual meetings with students, in person, digitally or by phone. You also work in an advisory capacity to the university's departments on matters concerning educational support, accommodations, and accessibility. An important part of the assignment is to contribute to developing more accessible teaching and to support departments in creating accessible learning environments. The assignment includes, among other things: mapping students' study situations, handling cases, and investigating needs for and deciding on or recommending educational support informing and advising students and providing support to departments on educational support and accommodations contributing knowledge and driving development work for increased accessibility in teaching informing and lecturing to groups within and outside the university about educational support and accessibility administering cases and working in the IT and financial systems used in the operations. Coordinator for Mentor Programs The other half of the position involves you, together with a colleague, being responsible for coordinating mentor support for students with mental health or neuropsychiatric disabilities. Mentor support may include, for example, support to students in structuring and planning their studies and developing strategies for managing their study situation. The assignment includes, among other things: meeting with students in need of mentor support, matching them with mentors and following up on the support recruiting mentors and conducting introduction and information meetings providing information and support to mentors in their assignment administering mentor programs, including compensation and payments in the university's payroll system. Part of the position may also involve you yourself being a mentor to a number of students. Common to both assignments In both parts of the position, you work closely with colleagues and other functions within the university. You contribute to developing and assuring quality of operations by independently and together with colleagues developing and maintaining work methods, routines, and processes within each area. The position also includes other work tasks within the section related to support for students with disabilities. Qualifications Please see the requirements profile on our website. Employment The employment is a temporary position with a scope of 100% (full-time) placed at the Education Unit, Student and Education Support Section, Gothenburg. The unit has offices in central Gothenburg (Rosenlundsgatan 8). The employment period is October 15, 2026, or by agreement – October 31, 2027. University of Gothenburg offers the possibility of remote work up to 2 days per week, provided that it is possible based on the needs of the operations.
