Program Description Hi! Are you our new pedagogue for Fjälldalen Preschool? We are now seeking a Sami-speaking pedagogue for our Sami minority language section! Fjälldalen Preschool is a preschool with six sections where nature and the mountains are close by, and as a pedagogue you will have a unique opportunity to be part of shaping the preschool of the future. The preschool opened in January 2025, and we are now looking for someone who wants to join a wonderful group of colleagues and build long-term work at the preschool. Children in preschool shall receive a safe education where care, development, and learning form a whole. Work as a preschool assistant means that together with your work team you create a safe and developmental education for the children at preschool. The work is challenging, exciting, creative, and takes place in close collaboration with your team and colleagues at the preschool. As a preschool assistant, you are part of a work team and participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the teaching offered to children. You collaborate with your team to offer children fun and educational teaching and learning. As a preschool teacher, you have special responsibility for leading goal-oriented processes and in teaching ensuring that: care, development, and learning form a whole, planning and implementation are based on the curriculum and on the knowledge and experiences that children have previously acquired, spontaneous activities and interests, daily activities and routines in the preschool become part of the teaching, and you develop pedagogical content and environments that inspire development and learning and that challenge and stimulate children's interest and curiosity while maintaining their attention. As a Sami-speaking preschool teacher, you work in our Sami minority language section Heavdni and work to strengthen children's Sami language and Sami culture. We work to ensure that Sami is integrated into children's everyday life and in the different situations children encounter at preschool. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is a certified preschool teacher or preschool assistant, and speaks Sami (for example, Lule Sami or North Sami). It is important that: you are well familiar with the curriculum (Lpfö18), you are a confident and clear leader, take initiative, are positive, and have confidence in children's various competencies, you have knowledge of and use various teaching tools, you have trusting relationships with children and guardians and have good collaboration skills. Great weight will be placed on personal qualities and personal suitability, you use pedagogical conversations and pedagogical documentation in your work, you use visual supports and TAKK (sign as alternative and complementary communication), you develop and advance the preschool in accordance with the curriculum, you have very good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written, which is a requirement for this position. Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality. The position requires an extract from the Police's suspicion and criminal record register, and that you present a valid ID card showing citizenship and valid work permit.
